Athletes come to Decater Performance because they understand that athleticism is not just strength, it's a about finding the perfect recipe that mixes the right amount of strength, power and technique with mobility, flexibility and stability.

Injury Prevention

Every sport and every athlete is susceptible to different injury mechanisms. Understanding these mechanisms are vital in our designing of strength and conditioning programs for our athletes. Injuries are most commonly a result of imbalances throughout the body so we place an emphasis on building a balanced, stable athlete.

Science/Results

In an effort to separate fact from fiction, our ultimate goal at Decater Performance is to educate our athletes. We discuss with our athletes the misconceptions that surround the fitness industry. With a Bachelors Degree in human physiology I educate our athletes on speed, how to gain strength, how to improve power output and how these are in-fact different. Every adaptation can be elicited if you know what is going on at the cellular level. Learn how a muscle grows. Understand the difference between size and strength. Learn why foot speed doesn't translate into linear or lateral speed. We study the research and pass on the latest findings to ensure we get the results you want.

Speed, Strength, Agility

Our unique sports performance programs are built around developing efficient athleticism so our athletes not only gain strength, speed and power, but also are able to take these skills and utilize them in their respective sport. All athletes are instructed on the following: proper warm-up technique, soft tissue work, movement training, injury prevention strategies, linear and lateral speed, change of direction, explosive power and proper lifting technique. We keep groups small to ensure attention to detail and allow for constant supervision. We don't work out we train!

Nutrition

Nutrition is a must for any serious athlete. Training is simply a stimulus for adaptation. Without proper nutrition to increase adaptations, athleticism is diminished. We train hard and we eat healthy so that you can reach your peak potential. To assist our athletes we provide an in-depth nutrition packet designed specifically to address the needs of athletes during intense training.

Progression

We pride ourselves on proper progressions. We push our athletes because sports and competition demand it; however, we don't sacrifice joint health to do so. Our goal is not to tear our athletes down, in some attempt to build mental toughness, we build our athletes up, progress them accordingly and take their safety seriously.

Format

Our Sports Performance training takes place out of Field of Champions baseball facility. It is a 6,000 square foot warehouse that is a sports performance gym by day and batting cage by night. Training sessions are in small groups at Decater Performance. These groups breed competition and enthusiasm. Athletes push each other and are accountable not only to themselves, but to one another. Anyone who has played a team will sport knows there is nothing like coming together to work towards a common goal. Atmosphere is key and our small groups do the job!
